The VR2Chury virtual reality application, commissioned by the IAS – Institut d’Astrophysique Spatiale and the LAM – Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille, aims to enhance the scientific archives of the Rosetta mission.
The Rosetta space exploration mission, undertaken by ESA, provided the two fundamental research laboratories with unique datasets for observing the comet Chury and understanding this type of small celestial body.
Presented and highlighted in the Vr2Chury application, the images of the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko 67Pe, transmitted by the European probe and the Philae lander, transport the user to the heart of European space exploration to relive the key stages of this adventure.
On the initiative of the IAS and the LAM as part of the promotion of their work, immersive experiments are proposed in the helmet version of the application.
VR2Planets has also developed a VR2Chury CAVE version for the virtual reality space of CNES (the French Space Agency), another key player in this mission, in Toulouse.
