On March 19, 2019, ESA BIC Nord France, the Europan Space Agency‘s incubator, elected VR2Planets as a representative start-up for innovative projects in the space sector and integrated it into its cooperation programme.
Meeting at the Technopôle Brest-Iroise and composed of ESA (European Space Agency), the CNES (Centre national des études spatiales), ASTech Paris Région (aerospace, spatial, defense competitiveness cluster of Paris Region) and Ouest BIC Technopoles (gathering four technology parks in Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions: The Poool, Technopôle Brest-Iroise, Atlanpole and Angers Technopole), the ESA Business Innovation Centre selection committee has chosen to distinguish VR2Planets for:
its capacity for innovation
the use of space technologies
technology transfer to a non-space sector
The highlight of this distinction was the presentation of a fruitful R&D work: the prototype of the new visualization tool of spatial, UAV and surface data created by VR2Planets. This powerful software will be offered on the market to meet the specific needs expressed in the fields of research, teaching and data valorisation.
ESA BIC Nord France from now on actively assists the development of the start-up and provides supports for the design finalization and the commercialization of its new applications.
In that respect, VR2Planets benefits from a significant technical and scientific support from CNES and other institutional and industrial partners.
